Samsung Galaxy S4

March 07 2013

So the second consecutive year, Samsung is out in the market with next series of Galaxy flagship device. Just like it did at the launching of the Galaxy S3, the company brushed off Mobile World Congress to seek the attention of the world towards it. Just ahead of the official launching, Sammy has revealed some of the facts about the Galaxy S4 and all these facts can clearly give us a notion about what we are going to have.

There will not be a big difference amongst what we have desired and what the device going to have. Android Atlas’ Scott Webster presented a report earlier this year in which he has mentioned the device is going to have everything he wanted, or even more. Here is the brief intro about the Samsung Galaxy S4:

Look and Design:

The design of S4 will be pretty much identical to its predecessor S3 with the same slim plastic body and large display. Therefore, it won’t wow those who were not satisfied with the design of the S3 but will be a great treat for those who were anticipating a more potent device with similar looks. This time, the gadget will get more ambitious efforts in the display and the material used for the body.

As long as display is concerned, Samsung really needs to workout a lot because its display is not as astonishing as its competitors like HTC, Sony and Motorola. The handsets of these players feature slick edge-to-edge display with no surrounding bezel. On the other hand, S4 arrives with 5-inch 1080p screen and probably with OLED, because this is the particularly a section in which Samsung has an edge over its competitors.

The plastic as manufacturing material used in Galaxy S4 is the biggest sore about this phone because it has very cheap feel when you hold the phone. And if we look at some other options available in the market, the feeling become worse. There is gorgeous HTC One with crafted aluminium body with diamond tools, the LG Nexus 4 and Sony Xperia Z with shiny glass backs and also the Motorola Razr Maxx HD. The design of S4 stands nowhere in competition of these gadgets.

Features:

Samsung has its reputation for the features its devices sport, and the Galaxy S4 will continue the streak. Most of the features of this phone are superior to its competitors and up to our expectations, but some betterment could be made.

Processor:

At the time of the launch of Galaxy S3, its processor (1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4) was fastest in the industry but it is the story of a year back and one year is like a decade in the swiftly moving mobile world. As long as processor of S4 is concerned, rumours say it might be eight-core chipset. Some also say there might be Exynos 5 Octa Chip, as it was displayed at Mobile World Congress last week. If this is the case, Galaxy S4 will get a great strikethrough in the mobile world.

Camera:

Galaxy S4 is going to sport a 13-megapixel camera, as it is anticipated by some people. Also, there might be 2-megapixel front facing camera with HD resolution. Also, the flash on the front side may also be cool.

Operating System:

The latest version of Android OS is Jelly Bean 4.2 and Google is planning to introduce the K-version of Android by May 15. So the Galaxy S4 will most likely wear the same Jelly Bean 4.2 as operating system. Also, there might be sleeker TouchWiz UI with the Android, as it is anticipated by mobile gurus.

Battery:

Galaxy S3 was introduced with a removable battery of 2,100mAh and it might be now upgraded to at least 2,500mAh in the Galaxy S4.

Storage:

The storage capacity of Galaxy S3 (16GB and 32GB with 2GB RAM) was really astonishing but Samsung would now like to woo its fan by increasing the storage capacity. The Samsung Galaxy S4 might have a RAM of 4GB plus 64GB of internal memory and at least 64GB of upgradable memory using MicroSD card.

S-Voice and Software:

The Galaxy S3 really disappointed its buyers with the S-Voice and personal assistance Software and Samsung would not like to repeat the story. There might be better options like S Beam and Visa PayWave mobile payment app and eye-tracking technology.

Samsung has made its reputation for launching powerful devices at much affordable prices and Galaxy S4 will surely carry its reputation. It is a phone that can surely compete with its rivals and Samsung has got more than enough money to promote, advertise and woo its lovers.
